Paul Frijters is currently the Academic Director of Academia Libera Mentis, and an emeritus visiting professor at the London School of Economics (LSE), where he was a Professor in Wellbeing Economics from 2016-2021. Professor Frijters is famous for developing the WELLBY cost-effectiveness analysis, a new tool for wellbeing policy making first adopted in the UK and then by many other countries. He teaches health economics, institutional development, financial economics, and wellbeing. In 2009 he was voted Australia's best economist under 40 by the Australian Economic Society. He is in the top 1% most cited economists in the world, publishing in top 50 economics journals as well as inter-disciplinary outlets and Handbooks.
