Matt Alford

Matt Alford specialises in the relationship between war, power and propaganda. His doctoral research tested Herman and Chomsky’s Propaganda Model. He has since examined two major national security and media controversies: the alleged assassination of a Hollywood screenwriter, and the relationship between the military-industrial complex and the entertainment industry, based on archival research and interviews in Los Angeles and Washington, DC. He co-produced and presented two feature-length documentaries, The Writer with No Hands (2014) and Theaters of War: How the Pentagon and CIA Took Hollywood (2022). In 2023, he addressed the UN in Geneva on the legal case of Julian Assange. He runs YouTube and Substack channels.
